Creativity is more than a skill; it is a profound connection to something greater than ourselves. In the book Conversations with God, Neale Donald Walsch dives into the topic of us being co-creators with the maker, he explains that yes we were made in his image but not in the way we interpret it, it is not the physical appearance but rather, our innate ability to create, just as he created the universe, in us he breathed life and power to be a co-creator which in essence means that our potential for innovativeness is limitless, we can only but limit ourselves. Walsch in his book explores the idea that we are all an expression of the divine therefore we must recognise the inherent power that we possess to create and innovate.
In my coaching journey, I have heard it time and again, “I am just not the creative type” or “It’s just not in me”. Well if you are human and you believe in God then you would know that we were made in his image (Genesis 1:26-27). God made everything in the world, the intricacies of the galaxies and the solar system, the ever-green amazon jungle, yes, the scorching hot Sahara desert, the seas, the sky, the volcanoes and all the incredible creatures that we see in the world. Now that is creativity, but the pinnacle of his creativity is man, the one he breathed life into and made in his own image. So if we were made in the image of the creator, we have the power to create as well.
Soak in that for a moment, YES, YOU ARE A CREATIVE because you were made in his image, “the imago Dei”
Let’s unpack this, shall we? Creativity manifests in billions of ways, it could be writing, painting, cooking, sculpting, singing, the list is endless. It could even be welding a metal horse from car scap or basket making. If you want to see just how creative we are, watch a toddler, break things apart and build something totally new. That innate ability to innovate is instilled in us by the creator.
Take a look at the things that humanity has been able to achieve since time immemorial. I am reminded of the tower of Babylon when humans tried to build a tower to reach the heavens, that was the creativity in us manifesting. Another incredible example I can think of is the idea of space travel long before rockets, in some little African empire back in Zimbabwe the Rozvi state where the locals wanted to fetch the moon as an ornament gift for their chief.
It is interesting to see how creativity within the humans has evolved overtime and now we have space vacations looming, man made Islands; cities and oasis built in deserts. And I dare not finish this post without mentioning artificial intelligence which has potential to revolutionise everything oh and let’s not forget the controversial man made robotic wives, As controversial as it is, it is a manifestation of the limitless potential that exists in human creativity. The list of man’s natural creative tendencies goes on and on.

As human beings we have the capacity to really be creative as we have seen with the creation of disruptive technologies that can change the landscape of all things as we know them. Being an auto electrician, speaker and avid reader, I have come to understand that creativity can manifest in a myriad of ways. This year alone, I have read over thirty diverse books, each contributing to my understanding of creativity and the world around me. Through these explorations, I developed the concept of MINDTUNE which is a framework designed to enhance creativity and mental clarity that anyone can apply to their daily lives. We will touch upon that in the next couple of blog posts.
The idea for MINDTUNE emerged during my reading journey. I delved into philosophy, psychology, and even fiction, noticing common threads in how different authors approached creativity and problem-solving. This inspired me to create MINDTUNE as a holistic method for nurturing not only creativity but also overall mental well-being. It became clear to me that MINDTUNE is not just a tool for artists or innovators; it is an everyday resource applicable in various settings from the workplace to personal relationships in life

In my work as an auto electrician, I often encounter challenges that require innovative solutions. I recall a particularly complex wiring issue that had stumped me for hours. Instead of succumbing to frustration, I decided to apply the MINDTUNE principles I had been developing. By stepping back, clearing my mind, and reflecting on the knowledge I gained from my recent readings, I was able to devise a unique solution that not only resolved the problem but also improved the overall system. This experience highlighted an essential point: creativity thrives when we embrace our uniqueness and allow ourselves to explore novel solutions, even in seemingly mundane tasks. MINDTUNE encourages this exploration by fostering an environment where creative thinking can flourish.
Here’s the thing, creativity isn’t just for those who paint or sing. It lives in you, in me, in everyone who’s ever looked at a problem and thought “there must be a better way.” Whether you’re figuring out how to fix a car’s electrical system, crafting stories that move hearts, or just finding clever solutions to everyday challenges, you’re tapping into that same creative source.
Take a breath and ask yourself: What will you bring to life today? You’re not just living in this universe, you’re actively shaping it. Your unique perspective matters. The world is hungry for what only you can create. So go ahead, make your mark. We’re all waiting to see what you’ll dream up next.
Stay Inspired
